Learning to quickly solve a Rubik's Cube puzzle is a great way for kids to develop an understanding of math concepts.

The McCall Middle School Rubik's Cube Club, funded by WFEE, competes with students across the state, testing their spatial understanding and ability to work as a team.
“It allows students to create an algorithm to solve the Rubik’s cube. The goal for the competition is to solve 25 cubes as quickly as possible. Some students are competing for the first time, while others are practicing solving more quickly." - Kim Burke, McCall Middle School Educator
WFEE's Grants Committee wanted to learn more about the Rubik's Cube Club. We turned to McCall student Quinn Shoffner for a complete report. He found students having a good time while sharpening their math skills.
“I like to practice solving and being with my friends” Jasmine Sun, 8th grader.
